What is the purpose of excipients and active ingredients in pharmaceutical products?
In most cases, the manufacturing of pharmaceutical products (galenics) requires the use of what are known as excipients, in order to be able to create the various dosage forms, such as tablets, capsules or ointments. In addition, the excipients in the finished product play a variety of roles, such as in relation to its shelf life, flavour, bioavailability, pH value or the formation of emulsions.
Active ingredients are the biologically active substances that may influence the biochemical and physiological processes in living beings.

Our excipients are used in the production of cosmetics and pharmaceuticals in the form of vitamins and essential oils as well as in acid regulators and preservatives. Vitamin H – also known as vitamin B7 or biotin – is used in creams and tablets for the skin, hair and nails, for example. And vitamin E is a radical scavenger, which is used in skin creams. Flavours such as anethole and menthol as well as sweeteners and sugar substitutes are among our excipients.
Our active ingredients are used exclusively in the pharmaceutical industry. As such, the processing pharmaceutical industry uses the certified active ingredients to manufacture pharmaceutical products. The varied capabilities of hyaluronic acid are employed here, for example.
