Flavourings are found in almost all areas of everyday life, as humans often find flavoured products and added fragrances appealing. For this reason, the processing industry is happy to use them to increase their product quality.
With baked goods, vanillin ensures a vanilla flavour, for example. In liquorice products, anethol provides the typical liquorice flavour.
